‘Tis placement peak time @ college currently…So far over 20 companies have either visited the campus or have put up notices of intent for the same….And people are running around attending one PPT after the other….And talking of PPTs, gotta say this….Some of the PPTs can have the uncanny ability to scare the S#$% outta those prospective recruiters….The whole audi is jam-packed with anyone and everyone who understands even a single word of the PPT notice coming in to check what the company is all about….Was very much in evidence a coupla days back when the folks from Sierra Atlantic(an Enterprise Appln Services company) put up a notice that they would be coming in for the post of a functional consultant….The PPT concentrated, expectedly, on the nature of work that SA is into and which , again expectedly, most ppl couldn’t get a clue of what it was (90%junta are oblivious to such terms as Enterprise Applications
)….But no, the enthu wasn’t really down…. People were determined to listen through and drop in their cv for the same…Irrespective of everything else, I keep wondering, is this a syndrome or is this a fad or is it, at the end of the day, a pragmatic necessity???
Recently, I’ve seen an overdose of msgs in all possible media asking for my valuable vote for an event which i thought was quite expendable with ;), It’s called Zee India’s Best and is supposedly a competition to decide the next set of faces whom we would have to endure on-screen… Me have been getting calls, IMs, requests on blogs, and (beat it), notices on college notice board for voting for a specific candidate, who also happens to be a student of the class of 2004 batch of my college here….Was really taken back to see a notice on campus yest exhorting ppl to vote for him; and i’m told, such notices have sprung up across all centers of our b-school !!! Strange are the times indeed ![]()
