Just had a visit by a Sify Broadband sales executive who wanted to sell me a broadband connection. Ever since BSNL implemented their 1GB data-cap (which btw sucks!!), I’ve been looking at alternatives. So heard the sales chap out!! The guy tells me they have this wonderful nouveau plan for 1100 bucks where-in he would offer me a no-data-cap unlimited connection !! I was like, where’s the cable !! Next min, he warns me, downloads are limited to 150MB/day !! I am like, wtf man!! And he goes on to explain that Sify’s idea of “unlimited” connection is limited by a 150MB toll gate !!! And to top it, he wanted a one-time installation charge of 2000 for laying a simple LAN cable (minus the ethernet card!!)..When will broadband service providers in India learn that bandwidth isn’t still that elusive thing to make consumers shell out big bucks !! I am more inclined to believe that these companies wanna milk the customers to the final drop before they actually accept international service standards !!
